Santa Croce Lake, a few kilometers from Villa Mazzucco, is geographically located less than 20 minutes by car south of Longarone. Coming from Cortina d’Ampezzo continue towards Ponte Nelle Alpi, at the traffic light go straight, towards Nevegal.
After the traffic lights, at the Rione Santa Caterina roundabout, at the end of the bridge, turn left towards the A27 Venice – Belluno motorway towards Treviso. Continue, without taking the highway, following the SS 51 up to La Secca. Shortly after, turn left, following the signs.
There are two main passions of those who frequent the lake for sporting reasons: the Wind Surf, or the famous board with the sail, and the funny Kite Surf, a sport a little younger but which is winning the sympathy of many water lovers. Hanging from a small “wing”, paragliding style, and balanced on the table, you let yourself be carried away by the wind, even at considerable speeds, making jumps and “flying” literally for several meters. Wind Surf enthusiasts leave from the locality of Poiatte, while Kite Surf practitioners launch themselves from the beach opposite the campsite (north side of the lake). Practicing kite surfing in the Dolomite lakes is pure fun immersed in the beauty of a territory that is unique in the world. There is also, of course, the possibility of sitting beautifully sprawled on the beach and basking in the sun in peace.
